Day 1: MARRAKECH – AIT BENHADDOU – OUARZAZATE – DADES GORGES
Pick up from Marrakech at 7h30, we start our journey crossing the High Atlas via the Tizi N’ Tichka pass 2260m. A snaky road with a lot of curves, beautiful views on the Berber villages sticking in the mountains and contrast changes. We discover one of the most preserved villages in the southern parts of Morocco; Ait Benhaddou; a fortified village served as a natural decor for different movies tournament a long time ago, a guided visit of 1 hour until the top of the hill to dominate the whole ksar and its mud Kasbahs. After that, we head to Ouarzazate to see Taourirt Kasbah and valley of roses where local people make distinctive products from the Persian rose. From that point, we follow our way towards Dades valley and gorges. Supper and overnight in your accommodation.
Day 2: DADES – TODRA GORGES – MERZOUGA DUNES (ERG CHEBBI)
After breakfast, departure from your hotel in Dades valley at 8 a.m., taking the road of 1000 kasbahs drive around the colorful Berber villages of the Dades valley. 45 km further, you will get to Tineghir with its beautiful palm grove and Jewish quarter. You continue to Todra Gorges (Todgha), free time to go on a trek along the canyons of about 300m high, a favorite place for rock climbers. Afterward, you will leave to Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga Sahara desert and you will have time for lunch on the way before you arrive in Erfoud. Then we’ll head for the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. We continue deeper into the desert landscape until the dunes appear in the middle of nowhere. Sunset camel ride to get to the oasis where the camp is located. Spend the night in the bivouac at Merzouga Sahara dunes under nomadic tents or outside under the shooting stars. Play drums with the camel drivers. Dinner and overnight in Merzouga Sahara desert camp.
Day 3: MERZOUGA – TAZARINE – AGDEZ – MARRAKECH
Early morning, you will wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, followed by breakfast in the camp the camel trek back to the hotel at the dune line for a quick shower. We drive to Rissani, a small Saharan town in the southeast of Morocco, here we can stop to visit a fossil workshop before we continue to Agdez and Draa valley junction where we pass again to Ouarzazate before heading up to Marrakech.
